As a young girl in Portugal, my mother would walk down to the street market and set up a booth where she crocheted all day while selling her unique, handmade pieces to her local community. Not only was it a good way to help her family make ends meet, but it was a passion of hers, and so when she grew up and had children of her own, she was sure to share her passion for the craft. I, myself, learned how to crochet at a very young age. I would sit down with my mother, whom always had an interesting, beautiful project to work on, and while we crocheted, she would tell me stories of what it was like as a young girl in Portugal. Thus, crocheting quickly became more than a passion of mine; it became a thing of comfort, a special connection I share with my mother.
I now have three beautiful children, and my mother now gets to teach her grandaughter, Aubrey, how to crochet, and I get to witness the bond between them as I watch my daughter listen to those same stories I heard when I was her age.
And now, just as my mother did before me, I am offering my handmade gifts to my community; albeit a community of a slightly bigger scale. I specialize in creating newborn items that are used as one of the first things a baby feels on its skin. I love creating pieces that make people smile, and watching as a mother tears up when she sees her newborn in his/her brand new crocheted booties and hat is priceless, the best feeling in the world.
Please take a look around my shop and let me know if you have any questions. I custom make all my items on demand so you can be sure that the special item you’ve ordered is tailored especially for you or your loved ones.
